Toyota has introduced the midrange Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV in India, with costs ranging from Rs 10.48 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Maruti Suzuki and Toyota collaborated on the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which is a sister to the recently announced Grand Vitara.
In addition to the Grand Vitara, it competes with the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Thar, and Kia Seltos, and it offers segment-exclusive hybrid drivetrains and AWD. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes in E, S, G, and V trim levels. A powerful hybrid powertrain is offered on the top three models. Whereas, AWD is only available on the top-tier mild-hybrid manual model.
Toyota provides four trim options for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder: E, S, G, and V. The 1.5-liter petrol mild-hybrid powertrain is the basic engine across the lineup. The strong-hybrid technology.
About the Toyota Hyryder Base Variant:
The E MT base model comes fitted with a 1.5 liter K Series petrol engine sourced from Maruti. It also has an Embedded Starter Generator, which contributes to its mild-hybrid status. Transmission choices are restricted to a 5-speed manual gearbox, with a 6-speed AT offered only on the S model and upwards. The petrol engine has a power rating of 103 PS and a maximum torque of 136.8 Nm.
Although being the lowest trim, the E MT looks good. Nevertheless, it lacks some luxury features, indicating that it is an entry-level model. To start, rather than LED headlamps, the grade has Bi-Halogen projector-led headlights.
It has 17-inch steel wheels rather than the alloys featured in higher grades. LED position lights, Twin LED DRLs, Tail Lights lamps, ORVMs with turn signals, roof-end spoilers, body-colored door knobs, and a shark-fin antenna are among the primary features offered on the version. All of these factors work together to improve the appearance and feel of Hyryder’s basic trim.
Dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat attachments, an Anti-lock breaking System with EBD, Hill Hold System, Vehicle Stabilization Control, Day/Night IRVM (Manually Adjustable), and Reverse Parking Sensors are all included on the base grade. Although being a base specification, the Hyryder E MT comes standard with comfy chairs, keyless entry, push-button start/stop capabilities, electrically foldable outside mirrors, 60:40 split second-row chairs, and plenty of storage capacity.
