WhatsApp has declared that it will no longer support obsolete cell phones with out-of-date operating systems. It is expected to stop functioning on several Android phones & iPhones this week. WhatsApp will discontinue compatibility for some older brands and models on December 31, 2022.
According to reports, the listing of obsolete gadgets includes 49 cell phones from Apple, Samsung, LG, and other manufacturers. WhatsApp’s official information page states that the software is compatible with Android handsets with Operating systems 4.1 and newer, as well as iOS smartphones with iOS 12 and higher. WhatsApp is also supported on handsets with KaiOS 2.5, such as the JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
WhatsApp remarks on this policy:
To stay up with technological changes, we regularly discontinue support for older operating systems in order to concentrate our efforts to the most recent ones. If we cease support for your operating system, you will be alerted and prompted several times to update your device so that you can continue to use WhatsApp.

The company may soon discontinue support for Android devices running less than Android 5.0 and iOS devices running less than iOS 12. Among the products are 7 Samsung smartphones introduced in 2011, 2012, & 2013. These smartphones may also lack the most recent security upgrades or the technology required to operate WhatsApp. The phones that will no longer support Whatsapp are listed below.
